How to Apply

Our admissions policy reflects our association with partner schools. Applications are also invited from other students who wish to pursue their sixth form education in a Christian context and who support the ethos of this Catholic College.

Where the College is oversubscribed the priorities for admissions are:

  1. Students from the following partner schools who submit their application by the given deadline: Bonus Pastor Catholic College, St Catherine's Catholic School for Girls, St Columba's Catholic Boys' School, St Matthew Academy, St Michael’s Catholic College, St Paul's Academy, St Thomas More Catholic Comprehensive School, Trinity CE School and St Ursula's Convent School.
  2. Other Catholic students who submit their application by the given deadline
  3. Other students who wish to pursue their sixth form education in a Christian context and who support the ethos of the College and who submit their application by the given deadline.

All applications will be judged against the course admissions criteria. Overseas qualifications will be considered but they will need to be of equivalent value to UK examination. A fee will be charged to overseas students where appropriate – further details can be obtained from the Admissions Office.

If you are currently a student at one of the Partner Schools listed above; please complete the application form (obtainable from your school) and return it before Friday 9th December 2011. Please check with your school the arrangement for returning completed application forms to Christ the King.

If you are a student who is currently at a non partner school: Please obtain an application form direct from the College. The closing date for receipt of applications is Friday 13th January 2012.

All pupils applying for places from partner schools will be guaranteed an interview. For other applicants, the decision to invite you to interview will be based on our priorities for admission, which will be considered alongside information contained on your application form and school reference. We will endeavour to inform students who are unsuccessful at this stage by Friday 24th February 2012.

If you are invited for interview you will be able to discuss the courses you hope to study and tell us more about yourself. You will also be able to ask us any questions.

An offer of a place will depend on your application form, your school reference and the discussions we have with you and your parents or guardians. If you are successful in your application, you will need to enrol formally at Christ The King College:St. Mary's. This takes place in August 2012 and you will be notified of these details later. Offers of places on all courses are made subject to availability. The College reserves the right to alter, substitute or withdraw programmes.
