About Work Shadowing

Work shadowing is when a student is assigned to an individual employee, whom they observe carrying out their normal routine. This enables young people to learn about a position which, due to complexity, safety or security, they cannot undertake. However, in some cases students are given tasks to do under supervision.

What sort of employers offer Work Shadowing?

Our students have undertaken placements in various private, public and voluntary sector organisations including:

I am glad I did it during the first year so I had less to worry about in the second because doing work experience in your own time is a crucial part of a UCAS application if applying to a university in the Russell group.
