CTK Fast Track Programme
The October half term saw the launch of the fourth annual CTK Fast Track Programme. As in previous years, the Programme involved 50 students from all three CTK sites coming together at CTK: Emmanuel for two days of training.
The morning session on the first day was led by Damian Kent who is a former student and lawyer for FreemantleMedia. Damian talked to the students about “Developing a professional work ethic“ and covered topics including the importance of time keeping, and personal presentation.
During the second part of the first days training we welcomed Seye Olokede, another former student from Christ the King who now works for Capita. Seye spoke to the students about his experiences and what it takes to be a success. Seye also talked about the use of social media in a professional environment, highlighting the importance of LinkedIn in the modern workplace.
The first day concluded with Maria O’Regan and her colleagues from Santander conducting two workshops “Building and presenting a compelling CV” and “Competency based Interviews”. Working in small group’s students had the opportunity to view CVs and work together with the support of the Santander team to further develop their interview techniques.
The second days training began with a presentation regarding the Barclays’s RISE and Life Skills programme from Sheneen Ofori-Koree of Barclays and Nigel Williams of Urban Synergy. The training was concluded with an interactive competition led by Deborah Obaseki and Cephas Williams of Greeate Careers.
