BTEC Technical Advanced Certificate
What will I study?
This two year course of study is the equivalent of one A Level. The course consists of four units:
- Principles and Applications of Science
- Practical Scientific Procedures and Techniques
- Science Investigation Skills
- Plus one optional unit as directed by the teacher
The course provides an excellent grounding in science and allows students to further their study / interest in this fascinating curriculum area. It also allows students to consider the study of Science with a choice of other A Levels or Technical Advanced Certificate subjects.
What do I need to study this course?
GCSE Science (Grade 9-5) and GCSE Maths (Grade 9-5).
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is through course work and externally set examinations
Where will a BTEC Technical Advanced Certificate in Science lead me?
In combination with other A Levels or Technical Advanced Certificates, this course provides excellent progression to university or into employment. Typical areas include Biomedical Science, Forensic Science, Engineering, Nutrition and Pharmacology.
