What will I study?
Law affects all of our lives. This course aims to help you understand, explain and analyse various aspects of the legal system. By highlighting recent and planned reforms, you will be able to debate and discuss your views on topical issues. This is a particularly good course if you have, and wish to, develop your writing, analytical and evaluative skills.
Over two years you will study the following modules:
- The Legal System
- Criminal Law
- Law Making
- The Law of Tort
- The Law of Contract
- The Nature of Law
What do I need to study this course?
GCSE English (Grade 9-5).
How will I be assessed?
You will be assessed by 3 two hour exams at the end of the second year. All exams are a combination of short answer and extended writing questions.
Where will A Level Law lead me?
Law is an excellent choice if you are planning to pursue a career in Law, Journalism, Business, Politics, Research or Teaching. It can also provide a basis for a wide range of careers where skills of analysis, evaluation and the construction of arguments are required.
