What will I study?
This course will help to expand your interest in the Italian language and culture as well as develop your linguistic skills. You will focus on a range of historical and contemporary topics which will further develop your understanding of Italy. The course will include literature and film and will encourage you to remain up to date with current affairs. This course is offered in partnership with the Italian Consulate.
What do I need to study this course?
GCSE Italian (Grade 9-5).
How will I be assessed?
The syllabus covers a range of topics appropriate to A Level language learning. All four skill areas will be assessed at the end of the course and will reflect the content of the course. Skills include listening, reading, writing, speaking and grammar manipulation through translation. There is also a focus on the culture and history of Italy.
Where will A Level Italian lead me?
Languages are facilitating subjects as recommended by the Russell Group of Universities. An A Level in a modern foreign language would be beneficial to a great majority of courses at university, and would be particularly helpful if you choose to spend a year abroad.
