Why Choose a Sixth Form College?
As a long-established, independent institution made up of three colleges, Christ the King has been educating young people for many years. The great advantage of a college like ours is that all our efforts are focused on the sixth-form age group; nothing distracts us from our core mission of helping our young people to be the best that they can be.
Because Christ the King is a dedicated environment for sixth-formers, our specialist staff are able to offer the expertise students in this age group need in order to achieve their potential.
Whether students are following an academic or vocational path, we know how to challenge and enthuse them, and to help them to achieve their aspirations – in life as well as in learning.
At Christ the King we know that it’s absolutely vital that our students achieve the qualifications they need. But we also know that examinations are only a means to an end, and whether students go on to university or follow a vocational route, they need to start planning for their future careers from their first day at college.
While school career services have suffered in recent years, at Christ the King we employ our own specialist career advisers so that we can ensure that students are prepared for their life beyond college and have the work-ready skills that employers are looking for.
But the teenage years, and the transition from childhood to adulthood, can be a challenging one, and we pride ourselves on the quality of our pastoral care as we guide our young people to adulthood. We’re here to guide, advise and support as well as to teach.
We pride ourselves on the care we extend to all our young people.
